And you let her go. Today was a very sad day for us, we lost our Rubie Doo. :( This past May she was diagnosed with Liver Failure, and it didn't look good for Rubie, but that day in May just wasn't her day to go. We tried medications, I.V. fluids, syringe feedings, everything that we could do to try to help her get better. It did work, she did perk up, and was on the right road but it was short lived. We knew this road would be filled with a lot of ups & downs, and it was a touch and go thing. We all started to get our hopes up as she was starting to act like herself again, and seemed to be eating, and gaining a little weight again. This week she just took a turn for the worse, and I knew it was her time, and she would let us know when it was, and she did. Last night she started to get bad, and I knew we would have to call the Vet and say our goodbye's. Since it's the 4th of July weekend, our Vet's office was closed. I checked another place, closed. I was really stressing at this point because I didn't want her to suffer, so I called one more Vet's office, and they were open. They were booked, but fit us in. I am so thankful that this place was open, cause if they weren't we were looking at an emergency call. We all took it pretty hard, but Frank & I, are at peace with our decision, and we know we made the right decision. Chelsea is just taking it really hard, and that just hurts my heart so much. Kwintyn, I think understands, and he looked a bit upset as well but he is doing alright. I know he will ask questions like he did with Felix. It sure is going to be different with out our Rubie Doo. We are going to miss her so much.
Rubie, has a brother Ollie. I took in a stray cat that was pregnant, and she had 2 kittens, Rubie, & Ollie. My kitty twins! They were born just 10 days before our Wedding Day, I watched them be born!! Rubie was named, Rubie because she was born in the month of July, and the birthstone is a ruby! I had to give her the "ie" ending due to the twin thing. :D Rubie was more of Frank's cat, and always has been. Rubie took to him, and Ollie took to me. She did finally make peace with Brownie before passing. Before, she would stalk poor Brownie, and start a fight. After she got sick, her & Brownie could actually be with in inches of each other, and not a fight. Although at times I could see it in Rubie's face that she wanted to go get her. Hahaha! I want to thank a few people who have been amazing to us during our struggles with Rubie. Stacie, with out you, we would not have had that extra time with Rubie. Helping us with the fluids, and the medication, and checking up on her. You are amazing, and we can never thank- you enough for all the help you gave to us, and Rubie. You will always be in our hearts. <3 And to Amy, she has been here for us, and has watched the kids, and has just been a shoulder to cry on, thank-you!! You truly are a great friend, and we appreciate everything! So blessed to have such amazing, kind, helpful people in our lives, especially when the tough times come in. Bless you're beautiful hearts. <3
So hard to say goodbye. We love you, Rubie-Doo!
