Ok, so it really isn't actually dirt. But we started taking Diatomaceous Earth today, we are going to be taking this as a supplement for 90 days. What is Diatomaceous Earth you ask? DE is made from fossilized diatoms, diatoms are microscopic skeletal remains of unicellular algae-like water plants that are found in fresh water & such. The diatoms are then rendered to a powder like form. It is a natural compound, and has magnesium, silicon, calcium, sodium, iron, and other trace minerals. Some people may have heard of Diatomaceous Earth and have used it. There are 2 kinds of DE, Food grade & industrial grade, as used in pool filters. I stress the FOOD GRADE here, as the other kind can kill you. It is commonly used as a bug killer. How is this SAFE? I really thought the same thing. It's not like a chemical, DE has microscopic razor sharp edges, these edges cut the insects protective covering, and drying it out, and killing it. But it is perfectly safe for humans, dogs, and cats to use. Anything with an exo-skeleton it will kill it. DE has many health benefits and that is why I we are trying this. I have done a lot of research about DE, and everything comes back with good things about it. DE has a negative charge, and so it will attract & absorb all positive charged pathogens. So when taken internally it can remove things like viruses, pathogenic fungi, and bacteria, heavy metals, prescription drug residue, pesticides, parasites, and radiation, and sweeps them out of our body. DE on a hardness scale would be a 7, it's been said it's like scrubbing bubbles for the digestive tract. AGAIN FOOD GRADE ONLY!!! DE is NOT recommended by the FDA. Consumers who used DE have reported lowering high blood pressure, lower high cholesterol, Osteoporosis, & joint related issues, like arthritis. Detox your body, some reported weight loss, and it's good for skin, hair and nails teeth & gums due to the silica that is in it. Mastitis in breastfeeding woman. It is known to be safe for pregnant & breast feeding Moms, helps the digestive tract. It has a lot of many household uses as well. If you are curious and want to know more about DE, research it because I don't think I do a good job explaining stuff that well. I tend to jump around. I wanted to start this journey earlier this year, but I procrastinated, and went back and fourth with my thoughts but I said it's worth a try. I'm tired of feeling the way I have been feeling, and I feel it won't hurt anyone else neither. The dogs & cats are in on this, too. Going to be doing a journal...hopefully on the progress, if any. :)
