Day 85: A New Car!!

I say that in my best Bob Barker voice. Hahaha! Well, we bought the Lincoln Aviator. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would have been due to some cosmetic flaws. I was really not wanting it. Decals coming off rims, a little crack in the back by the tailgate, some rust in the door jam, a piece from the seat was missing, and it wasn't as clean as I would have liked it to be. I'm SUPER picky if anyone hasn't figured that out yet. But Frank pointed out that a lot of those things can be fixed. New rims, replace piece on tailgate, and get a little body work done on it, and order a new piece for the seat. He really like it! We took it on a test drive, and it rode nice, and the mileage wasn't horrible, and the price was just right as I wasn't looking to spend a lot on a car right now. So we bought it. I screwed everything up by forgetting our checkbook at home, and so it made for a long day. So with things in place, and with the trust of the Dealership they allowed us to drive the vehicle from Traverse City to Gaylord, to our bank to get a cashiers check, ( Somehow they couldn't do it electronically, and they needed the whole payment the same day, before they vehicle can actually leave the lot.) then we went to the Kalkaska office and dropped off the check there. Then by the time we got home, the Lincoln looked dirty, and I still needed pictures, so we stopped at Monte's Auto Wash, and they were closed, but...lucky us, our lovely friend owns the place and gave us a wash. So thanks, Monte's for the wash!! We finally got home at 7:00pm, we left here at 9:00am!! I didn't test drive it, Frank did. But I drove to Kalkaska & back, and that changed my whole opinion on the Lincoln. I LOVE IT!! I feel super comfortable in it, unlike the Expedition. I feel I can actually relax in my seat. In the Expo I find myself sitting up more. It fits me like a glove!! Plus I feel better about Kwin's car seat, this has the LATCH system, and the Expo don't. I always felt like he wasn't in there tight enough, but now he is. Kyle climbed back in the 3rd row when we got home, and he said it was pretty comfy back there. We were wondering how that would play out, and Kyle said it's one of the most comfortable spots in it, surprised me. The Expo you sit really high up, and you're knees are more bent. Kyle said he really liked it. Boys went & checked it out and all like it, Chelsea isn't feeling to well, so she hasn't checked it out yet. And Kwintyn.......

Well, Move over Matthew Mcconaughey! There's a new spokesman for Lincoln. I've been RIDING in Lincoln's long before anyone paid me to do it. I didn't do it to be cool or make a statement. I just liked it. Kwin's been pimping in a Lincoln for 3 years now.....he's 4 years old. Bet you know what this boy will be driving when he gets older?! Hahaha! He says now I need a new car seat!! Safety first!! :)

  1. Despite not liking it at first, it’s great that you eventually fell in love with your new car. And it’s great that you got it for the price range that you were aiming for. I’m sure Frank will come up with interesting ways to fix those cosmetic flaws you saw at first. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this with us, Jenny. Wishing you and the rest of your family all the best! Drive safe!

  2. It appears that the Lincoln really won you over big time. Good thing its flaws were quite negligible. Besides, there are repair shops for that, with all the accessories to replace the reams and the pieces on the tailgate. Still, what matters is that you got yourself a new car. You can literally go places with it now, while customizing it in all the ways that you'll see fit. Cheers!
